Irish writer Samuel Beckett’s play Endgame portrays the living situation of only four survivors in their waste world after World War II. It reflects postwar trauma suffered by human beings as well neglect and disregard culture, revealing westerners’ survival psychological crisis The theme influence underlies seemingly absurd dialogues play. emptiness hopelessness embodied characters are a reflection disillusioned religious belief trauma. This paper explores lingering shadow Second reflected Endgame: westerners were fully aware fragility life, thus felt extreme empty hopeless; they realized great lethality weapons, which led them to overemphasize machinery technology without valuing importance culture. By writing this play, Beckett warns people face up trauma, attach cultural construction development, reshape values get out spiritual plight gradually.
